Telemarketing and Telesales. What Picture Pops into your head?
Telemarketing and Telesales don't have a great reputation. Words are emotive.
When you are a professional communicator you are all too aware of the impact of negative words and telemarketing and telesales are negative words. The picture that pops into our heads is often of banks of poorly trained telesales people calling you, when you are about to sit down to dinner, to try to sell you a new phone service.

The easiest way that we have found to contrast GMT from traditional telemarketing and telesales companies is to ask clients to look at the picture that pops into their heads when they hear the words telemarketing and telesales, then turn that picture around 180°.
The first picture; banks of telemarketing agents calling consumers at home with mass marketing messages. GMT is a normal office environment. The third picture; pushy telesales people who are motivated by commissions. GMT staff are salaried and receive no commissions. Their motivation is to work in teams on a variety of challenging campaigns. Our proven belief is that commissions work against quality when you are doing high end demand generation work. Sending expensive salespeople out to poorly qualified meetings, adds to the sales cost. With the best will in the world, commission based payments encourage low qualification.
